Day 10: 7 lenses! February 28, 2007

7 lenses. Not a bad effort.

I’ve added them to the viral and affiliate marketing group and to the ezine group, and the groups are growing nicely. I’m on target for having the 9th most active group by this time next week. I will then list some clickbank products for sale in text modules to monetize the group page as well as using it to drive people to my other lenses featured there.

I mentioned yesterday an ebook called Squidoo Cloud. It is about Squidoo Tags. The content isn’t new. It’s even common sense. And you’d probably learn it within a few days of making lenses anyone. But it does set it out screenshot by screenshot, so if you are particularly dull you might want to use it to follow step by step how to increase your lens visitors using tags. A little bit useful, but by no means necessary. You can get it at SquidooCloud.com if you really want it.

Day 9: 4 lenses! February 27, 2007

Today I planned on creating 10 or so lenses. I ended up doing only 4. Not so great.

I got a little bit sidetracked. It’s easy to get sietracked on the internet! One thing I did that might work out actualy quite good was when I logged on to ebay and replied to someone I bought something off before, and I decided to do a search for the word SQUIDOO on ebay. And an ebook came up! Not the book written by Tiffany, nor the Bob The Teacher one. And it was $7. So I bought it. I was hoping for an immediate delivery so I could download it right away automatically and start reading it within a few seconds. But I need to wait for the seller to email it to me. Oh well. The ebook was called something like Squidoo Cloud.

I guess I’ll let you know tomorrow if it’s any good!

Surely nobody is working on a plan to benefit from Squidoo like I am… so maybe it is me who should write an ebook!

Not a bad number, but also not great. I should have done 10! I still have some eZine related lenses planned, so I’m quite keen on getting my ideas for them done so I can move on to something else.

Maybe I could make a few lenses on that Squidoo ebook, if it’s any good. Or maybe I’ll make some lenses about ebay! Selling on ebay, buying on ebay, that sort of thing. That’s a good idea. You come up with very good ideas, you know? Has anyone ever told you that?

Day 8: 10 lenses! February 26, 2007

I’m back into the swing of things now.

My head DOESN’T feel like it’s about to explode, and I can concentrate on the screen again without wanting to pull my eyes out.

The lenses are looking quite good so far. Some have 5 visitors, some have 7, some have 9. This is good because it means my group building strategy is working.

I created a new group for the lenses I made today, because 9 out of the 10 are all about eZines. The group I created is www.squidoo.com/groups/ezine

I’m hoping that over time people looking for eZine related info will find their way to the lenses and the group. And that people with eZine lenses will add them to the group

One really good bonus to all of this is that I am leaving an empty write module at the bottom of all the lenses I create. Every one I’ve done so far. I’m going to work out how to use iFrames and put something in there that will be broadcast across every single one of the lenses I make. Some adsense ads or pay per impression banners or something. I don’t know yet. When I get a good idea I’ll go through all the lenses and add it in. Then all I’ll have to do to update the module on EVERY lens is edit it in one place on some web hosting. Clever, I think!

If I find something that will seriously monetize my lens traffic I could reach my $6000 target a LOT faster. Thinking about it now, I don’t think banner ads would pay me enough for it to be worth it.

I’ve just had a million more things to do today.

I’ve not been able to make any lenses so far, and I won’t have time for the rest of the day.

Tomorrow I should be able to make about 10. I’m just a few paragraphs behind!

Day 6: 4 lenses! February 24, 2007

I’m not 100% like I hoped, but I still managed 4 lenses in total
The lenses are starting to look much better than the first few I made. They look a lot more likely to make sales now. And to keep readers interested to the bottom of the page. And to click to read another lens by me, which will mean twice the amount of an adsense co-op share from that indvidual visitor, because they now show as 1 visitor on 2 lenses! So the lensrank on 2 lenses is given a boost instead of just on 1 lens. I have a really good plan here I think. I think I’ll get to $6000 a lot faster than I expected

Day 5: 0 lenses! February 23, 2007

Well I made no lenses today.

I turned out that my head very nearly did explode, but decided not to. I just couldn’t concentrate for long enough though. I put together some ideas for lenses for tomorrow, which is quite good. So I’m hoping to do 4 or 5. But I’ll do 10 – 15 if I feel 100% better.

The pictures look really good. I got them all in a resale rights pack of images I bought. 1600 in total. Very useful! I’ve noticed quite a few lensmasters use them. They’re good because most of them have white backgrounds, and a pic with a white background looks really good with the Squidoo design.

I must get back to being ill.

Day 4: 3 lenses! February 22, 2007

Today I made 3 lenses. The rest are getting a couple of visitors each (not many visitors as they’ve only just been created), and 2 have been rated. Does any fairly adventurous reader want to rate every single one of my lenses so far? There is no prize or present for you if you do. I’m just thinking that there has got to be someone willing to do it!

Anyway, I’ve been a bit ill lately (my head feels like it’s about to explode), so here are just 3 lenses I made today:

It takes quite a lot of concentration to do 3 lenses with your head about to explode!

The lenses I’m creating now have more modules than the first load I made because I have worked out my quicker ways of putting them together. For example, that poll toolkit thingy I mentioned. I have all the other stuff pre-written, like what to paste into the ebay module, what to paste into the link module, it’s all there ready.

I’m getting more and more excited by this project as the days go by.

Do you think I’ll ever make it to one million lenses? Or $6000 monthly residual lens income?

Day 3: 2 lenses! February 21, 2007

Today wasn’t as amazing as day 1 and day 2.

But the challenge is still on, don’t you worry about that!

Not loads, but I was putting together a few text documents to copy and paste from to set up things like a poll on each lens. And a few more things like that.

Day 1: 30 lenses! February 19, 2007

Day 1. Today I made 30 lenses. 30!

As I said yesterday, I put in quite a bit of work before launching this challenge to make this massive start possible. Cool or what?

Welcome to The Challenge February 19, 2007

This will be my daily log of how I plan to make either one million Squidoo lenses, or $6000 a month residual lens income.

Which ever comes first!

I’m already working on some of my lenses, and I have quite a few things ready before I start the challenge, so I think tomorrow will be a VERY busy day. It will be a lens-creation day like Squidoo has never seen!
